Dominican Baptism Certificate Search for Older Church Records
A Dominican baptism certificate search is often needed when a family member was baptised in the Dominican Republic but the exact parish, town or date is no longer clear. Baptism records may be held by the original Catholic parish, a diocesan archive, the Archbishopric, or another church repository, depending on the year and location of the baptism.
These records can be especially important for genealogy, inheritance, citizenship by descent, dual nationality review, historical identity cases and legal matters where older civil registry records are incomplete, damaged or difficult to trace. A baptism record may help confirm family connections, parental names, date ranges and places of origin.
A successful search usually depends on comparing the information already available: the person’s full name, parents’ names, approximate year of birth or baptism, possible town or parish, and any related family records. Older Dominican church records may include spelling variations, abbreviated names, faded handwriting or differences between church, civil and migration documents.
Dominican Certification Service can search for the baptism entry, verify the details, obtain the official certificate where available, and arrange legalisation, apostille, translation and international delivery when required.
Long before Dominican registry offices ever existed, records of birth, baptism, death and marriage were being recorded at churches around the country.

Just complete the form on our baptism certificate order page, and we can quote you for our service to search for the Dominican baptism record you require.
Once we have found your baptism record, we can offer an all-inclusive package which includes the original Dominican baptism certificate, duly legalized at the Archbishopric of Santo Domingo, and apostilled by the Dominican Foreign Ministry, which makes your baptism certificate legal and recognized in most of the world.
We offer two delivery options: 1) international certified mail dispatched from our local post office in the Dominican Republic with a bar-coded receipt, and 2.) courier company such as DHL.
Finding the record is only the first step. If the document will be used for citizenship, inheritance, immigration, court proceedings or another international process, it normally needs to be issued in the correct format and prepared with the appropriate legalisation, apostille and, where necessary, translation.

Where we search:
Since many of the foreigners residing in the Dominican Republic at the beginning of the 20th century, lived and worked in San Pedro de Macorís on the south east coast, it follows that most of our inquiries for certificates from very long ago involve San Pedro de Macorís. If we can't find baptism records in San Pedro's cathedral, we continue our search at the Archbishopric of Santo Domingo.
